Unlike the Asian handicap, a draw is still an option here. It is also known as the “three-way handicap” (1X2). It only uses whole numbers.
Values: Always whole numbers (+1, -2, +3).
No refunds: There is no “void bet” here. You either win or lose.
Practical example: European Handicap -2
Imagine a match between Manchester City and Burnley.
You bet on the draw (handicap -2). To win this bet, Manchester City must win by exactly 2 goals so that, after applying the handicap, the adjusted result is a draw.
| Actual result | Result with handicap | Bet outcome |
| Manchester City wins 3–0 | Manchester City wins 1–0 | Lost (Manchester City won by more than 2) |
| Manchester City wins 2–0 | Draw 0–0 | Won (you correctly predicted the adjusted draw) |
| Manchester City wins 1–0 | Burnley wins 0–1 | Lost (the handicap resulted in a win for the away team) |
